Sustainable travel inspiration
On this page you can find all of my travel tips relating to inspiration around sustainable travel. These tips include where to find inspiration, ways to inspire yourself and how to prepare for your trip. Each tip links to an Instagram post or blog post with more information.
Most of these tips will be small, easy-to-implement actions. I recommend starting with the ones that seem most feasible to you. It’s always better to take just one small action than it is to do nothing at all, because every small change makes a difference!
Sources of inspiration
- Read sustainbility-oriented travel blogs
- Follow sustainability-oriented travel journalists
- Get a USE-it map for European city trips
Staying motivated
Ways to challenge yourself
- Go flight-free for a year
- Turn sustainable travel into a game
- Create a sustainability bucketlist or bingo card
- Stay longer at your destination
To get you started on sustainability challenges, I have created bingo cards at 3 different levels: easy, medium and hard. It’s best combine challenges like this with the ways to keep motivated mentioned above.

Journalling
Starting a journal can seem daunting, but these ideas may help you get started. Getting a journal with lots of prompts like The Adventure Book has hugely helped me to get the creativity flowing. You can have a look at some of my scrapbook pages to see that you just have to start somewhere!
